Barrel aged in both French and American Oak barrels for 16 months, this blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 6% Syrah, 6% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Malbec is loaded with ripe berry flavors, hints of elegant oak and spice that lead to a balanced structure and lengthly finish. The wine was aged for 23 months in 60% new French Oak barrels.

  • I love Horse Heaven Hills AVA wines. Our 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon has a spicy nose, a mixture of orange blossom, jasmine and leather. The fruit is all red: currant, raspberry and cherry. Although there is more than 75% new oak on this wine, the fruit holds its own all the way, giving up a bit of toasted almond at the end.   • Although this wine has much more Cabernet Sauvignon than the 2007, the wines seem to be more like sisters than cousins. The 2008 stands not in the shadows of 2007 as I had first thought it might but right next to it. It is a wine that although different in structure, nevertheless possesses all that it needs to satisfy now and in the future.
